Celebrate Afternoon Tea Week with a Sustainable Day Out by Rail

Few things are more quintessentially British than afternoon tea. Whether you prefer a traditional cream tea, homemade cakes, artisan coffee or a leisurely lunch with friends, the Cam Valley offers plenty of delicious destinations that can be reached sustainably by train.

This Afternoon Tea Week, 13th – 16th August 2026, why not leave the car behind and discover some of the fantastic cafés, tearooms and food venues located close to our stations? Travelling by rail is a relaxing, environmentally friendly way to explore local communities, support independent businesses and enjoy the best food and drink the Cam Valley has to offer.

Foxton Station

Fitzbillies at Harston

Famous for its cakes and baked treats, Fitzbillies has become a Cambridge institution. Its Harston location offers the chance to enjoy the renowned Fitzbillies experience while exploring the villages and countryside south of Cambridge.

Printworks Café

A welcoming community café serving great coffee, homemade food and sweet treats, Printworks Café is an ideal stop for walkers, cyclists and visitors looking for a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Meldreth Station

The Melbourn Hub

At the heart of the local community, The Melbourn Hub Café provides a welcoming space to meet friends over coffee and cake or enjoy a light lunch. It’s a fantastic example of a community facility bringing people together.

Sheene Mill

For those looking for something a little more indulgent, Sheene Mill offers a beautiful waterside setting where visitors can enjoy afternoon tea alongside the picturesque River Mel.

Shelford Station

The Greenhouse Café
