Accessibility at Meldreth Station

Photograph of bicycles chained up at Meldreth station

A major Community Rail Partnership aspiration is “Full disabled access at Meldreth Station”. Currently the London-bound platform is totally inaccessible for wheelchair and push-chair users.

As a village, Meldreth is home to Meldreth Manor, a specialist independent day school for children and young people aged 6 to 19 with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties and complex needs. Meldreth should be a flagship station for disabled access rather than one of the least accessible on the Great Northern network.

We have made disabled access at the station a priority campaign. We are campaigning ultimately for full step-free access between the platforms, and to the London-bound platform from the path from Melbourn.
